HATCHET | Guts
by Gary Paulsen
You, the Canadian
wilderness, and a hatchet.
WILL YOU SURVIVE?
This is the situation thirteen year-old Brian Robeson finds himself in when the small plane he's flying in crashes, leaving him stranded in the Canadian wilderness.
"He was sitting in the bushplane roaring seven thousand feet above the northern wilderness with a pilot who had suffered a massive heart attack and who was either dead or in something close to a coma.
He was alone." (p. 12)
Brian quickly gets into survival mode, crash landing into a lake and breaking free from the reckage of the plane. Brian uses his hatchet, a gift from his mother, to help him survive. Will Brian be rescued?
